About this project

ZWEITZEUGEN e.V. sensitises (young) people to antisemitism and racism by telling the life stories of contemporary witnesses who have survived the Holocaust. The association encourages them to pass on those stories as secondary witnesses as well as to stand up against antisemitism and racism and take on responsibility for the society they live in.
That we do work on this sustainably was the outcome of an audit conducted by „Phineo“ in 2019. „Phineo“ is a non-profit analysis and consulting company for efficient commitment. We are therefore entitled to use the „Wirkt-Siegel“ („it works-seal“) and show that our commitment has an effect on society. A great achievement that underlines the rates we came up to:
Besides two exhibitions and numerous public presentations we enabled more than 3000 children and teenagers to be secondary witnesses and were able to welcome 45 new volunteers to our team. In addition we acquired seven new partner schools which means a frame of at least three years of cooperation. Since 2018 we are a recognised body of free youth welfare which strengthens our position in the sector of extracurricular education. In 2019 we extended our extracurricular activities and we aim at more growth in this field.
A funding commitment of „Aktion Mensch“ (private German funding organisation) is the bedrock for our project „Secondary witnesses in football“ which we are now able to establish during the next three years.
We are going to bring our education to the football tutoring centers of football clubs in order to reach young football fans. That way we want to use the immense power of this popular sport to strengthen children and teenagers with diverse social backgrounds, irrespective of any disadvantages they may be subject to against antisemitism and racism. Partners in this project so far are the German Football League Clubs Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

It is our intention to present and share these successes and our operations transparently. Therefore we compile an efficiency report every year to visualise the social value of our commitment. The Efficiency Report 2019 will contain 44 pages and 150 printouts. It provides a structured and systematic survey of our association. The report gives an overview of the set and the achieved goals of our teams as well as of structural and financial developments of the former year.

For the printing of the report we rely on your support. The release of the Efficiency Report is an important step towards professionalism. Financing this report is also the base to secure the future of the association. It serves as a source of publicly accessible information we can use to actively approach sponsors.
