Lebanon on Stage is the charity theatre of the Lebanon project of the German Youth of the Order of Malta. Since 2005, every year a theatre play has been performed on a big tour for the benefit of our Lebanese guests. Lebanon on Stage is about bringing the joy and enthusiasm we experience during our annual holiday camps with people with disabilities in Lebanon directly to German stages and thus raise money for the continuation of the project. The cancellation of the tour hits the Lebanon project hard and is especially fatal this year in view of the current socio-political situation in Lebanon.
The country is currently experiencing one of the most severe economic and financial crises in its history. This is now being exacerbated by the outbreak of the coronavirus.
In such a situation, the fate of the weakest is often overlooked.
The homes for people with disabilities, where the guests of our summer camps live, are already underfunded and understaffed. Only with donations and hardly any significant support from the government, these nursing homes usually try to ensure the basic care of the residents.
We are working at full stretch to support the homes in the difficult supply situation. There is a shortage of medicines, diapers, hygiene articles and cotton underwear in particular.
With your donation, we can quickly send the direct aid to our long-standing friends in Lebanon who are associated with the project, so that the necessary measures can be taken on-site.
