Best from Berlin, your

Let's create an unforgettable performance for a future worth living!

In June 2020 we want to present and extend the Patchwork Healing Blanket as part of a mega performance at the Tempelhofer Feld. The blanket consists of hundreds of textile works by women and is a statement for a world worth living in.

The art action Patchwork Healing Blanket was born in Mexico. The motto is: "Let's set a sign! - Ya basta! - Enough!"

The action is directed against violence - especially against women and children - and against the destruction of our home planet Earth. The Mexican women would like the "Healing Blanket" to travel around the world after the action at the border fence and they would like to come to Berlin next year.
Worldwide hundreds of women create textile pictures in the format 70 cm x 70 cm, which are assembled in Mexico to a huge blanket, the Patchwork Healing Blanket. In January 2020 it will be hoisted over the border fence by many activists near Tijuana and accepted and carried on on the US side.
We are ready to bring the blanket to Germany in June 2020. At an impressive performance in Berlin on the Tempelhofer Feld (48 Hours Neukölln) we want to let the Patchwork Healing Blanket grow further.
Let's create a performance together that gets under your skin and lasts for a long time!
Let's take the opportunity to join the Ya Basta! of Mexican women and show that we are able to form networks, overcome borders and act together!
What do we use the donations for?
The professional realization of the performance needs many helping hands.
Fees are reluctantly financed by donors, but are necessary to guarantee a certain commitment and reliability when carrying out necessary work. We think it is also a matter of fairness to pay people for their work. This is also a "women's issue", because it is still primarily women who are expected to volunteer.
Work to be done: a) Moderation of the workshops (20 appointments, i.e. approx. 100 hours). In particular, we want to encourage women with escape experience to participate in the workshops. b) Helpers for transport, superstructures, technical support, sewing c) Artistic director responsible for the overall concept and the interaction of the many actors. d) a film team with equipment that guarantees professional media support and distribution.
Transport costs for the transfer of the Healing Blanket from Mexico and inner-city transports. The Mexican women expect about 1000 textile pictures in the first project phase.  At a width of 4.90 m, the ceiling would be 100 m long and weigh approx. 200 kg.
Travel expenses for two Mexican women who would like to come to Berlin to exchange experiences.
