In Northern Ghana around 2500 mostly elderly and female people are living in sanctuaries and ghettoes after being accused of witchcraft. Our project seeks to improve the situation of around 200 women in 3 sanctuaries at Gushiegu, Nabuli and Kpatinga. There is no other NGO doing continuous work with witch-hunt victims. Simon and Evelyn Ngota visit the women on 3 days a week and assist them in any way, educate them about hygiene and medical issues, guide them to hospital if needed, help them to contact their relatives if they would like to go back, plant trees and organize small-scale businesses like beads, soap, Moringa-powder. Simon and Evelyn have more than 15 years of experience working with witch-hunt victims at the well-known ghetto of Gambaga.
