This is the 3rd major project Jayma Kunan will be running in Peru and it will be one of the largest challenges:
The goal is to build an afternoon school for up to 80 children between 5 and 12 years from the ground up.
Together with our project manager Martinia Olivares we have already acquired a piece of land in one of the poorest areas of Huaycan, a city of 160,00 people in the East of Lima. Martinia and her friends from the community have carved out a flat area of approximately 6m x 22m out of the hill and created a path to the property.
We now need your help to kick off the construction of the first phase where we want to achieve the following:
- Construction of 3 classrooms and a kitchen incl. dining room
- Construction of a proper access path to the area
- Running water and electricity
- Daily meal for everybody
- Provision of educational material
Ideally, we also want to build a little playground but this may be postponed to next year due to the obvious priorities.
This very project is about the provision of the daily meal for all the children attending the center.
