Help me fund my year abroad (FSJ) by donating for my cause!
Who am I? Why an FSJ?
My name is Aylin Büsel, I'm 18 years old and live in Hanover, Lower Saxony. I am currently still a highschool student and will get my A-levels shortly. As many of us do, I have always wondered what would be in store for me after school. Through friends and my sister, who was in the US for a year, I quickly decided to go abroad as well. Then, another friend of mine, Larissa, introduced me to Volunta, a DRK corporation in Hesse (supported by the Rotes Kreuz Hessen).
What program and why?
"Weltwärts" is an enterprise of the Federal Ministry of Econimic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and promotes young people's interest in participating in voluntary involvement within developing countries.
The organization that I come from is the Volunta GmbH DRK Hessen, which is mainly responsible for all voluntary services of the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz in Hesse. Together with the Förderverein 180 (Fundación 180 Ramos de Buitrago, in Tunja), which boosts the education and development of columbian children and young adults in the Departemento Boyocá, I will take on my journey in August 2019.

What are my duties on site? Why Columbia?
I will be a helping hand for the english teachers in Columbian schools and will also start my own projects with the students.
South-American countries have been interesting to me since I started learning Spanish in sixth grade. The language, the people and the culture are all things that fascinate me, which is why I want to go to Columbia. As I will live with a Columbian family over the year, I will have the opportunity to get to know the Columbian culture first hand. Furthermore, Tunja (Departamento Boyocá) is located in the Andes, which means I will be able to explore very different climatic and geographic circumstances than I'm used to. I am really excited to gather all of those new experiences.
Now it's your turn!
Most of the costs for my year abroad are going to be covered by the state. Nevertheless, 3500€ should be funded through donations. That money will go to projects over in Columbia, my housing, food, international transport costs, mentoring, pocket-money, seminars, educational accompanimant as well as my insurance and the administration.
I'm really happy to be able to have this opportunity, which is why I'm very thankful for any financial support. In the end, not only me, but also the children, youngsters and teachers in Columbia profit with just a small amount of your help.
Lastly, in the name of Volunta and my own: Thank you for your support.
