Greetings from Bamako

Dear supporters of our project,

First of all many, many thanks to all for your contributions.  We are really touched by the interest and suppot the project has generated. Moussa and I arrived in Bamako on Monday. It is hot, chaotic but absolutely fantastic. We are staying with friends of his and getting a real insight into the local culture here. 

Yesterday we met the chief engineer of the local construction company who we would contact to install the solar pump. It was a good meeting but with one caveat: he told us we can install the pump with the funds we have but if we want it to generate a significant improvement that will have a long term effect he suggested also drilling a new 80 Meter well (which would double the costs).  So Moussa and I are going to travel to his village today and discuss this proposition with the local community.  We hopefully be able to update you on developments by early next week.
