Dear supporters,

To give solar lamps means not only to give light but to give hope, education and well-being to an individual, their community and our planet.
With your support, we reached a milestone in February of this year: All off-grid schools in the Kamonyi district of Rwanda have been equipped with solar lamps and have learned about renewable energy in our solar workshops! A huge success!  So far, our Solar Schools Program has reached 24,323 students and 526 teachers.

And this is the impact of 24,323 solar lamps:

24,468,938 additional study hours have been created for the children of Kamonyi
100% of interviewed students and teachers feel safer after dark and are experiencing improved well being
96%of interviewed families are saving money because they no longer have to purchase kerosene
76%of users have reported a decrease in health problems associated with burning kerosene
8.9 Million kg C02 saved

Our Next Goal:  To provide every incoming student in the Kamonyi district with a solar lamp.

Hear from Cécile, who has received a solar lamp through the Solar Schools Program:

Thank you for your support!
