Dear friends and followers of the Dithialaki project, we are very happy to announce that Diappal Gaayi got a generous funding by the German foundation “Schöck Familienstiftung” (Berlin) as co-founder of the funding granted by the German foundation “Nord Süd Brücken” (Berlin). This contribution will allow us to finally hold a training course for masonry in cooperation with Dakar's vocational school “ESEBAT”. The course is intended to give Thialape's community members the possibility to empower themselves and be competitive on the job market as certified masonry, while making the community able to build the multifunctional ecological centre (starting with the ecological food industry) counting exclusively on its own strengths and resources. The training will officially startonthe 27th of August. At the moment, we are holding preparation work to finalize the activities that will take place during the training, including the program of the training, the choice of the trainees and the contracts to be signed between the ESEBAT vocational school, the trainees and Diappal Gaayi. The community of Thialape and Diappal Gaayi would like to give warm thanks to the “Schöck Familienstiftung” and to the “Stiftung Nord Süd Brücken” for their trust in the project.
