We received a payout of €6,733.91

The donations collected through Betterplace, together with contributions from the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie and the Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung, and potentially additional corporate partners, will be used to fund our Girls Gearing Up International Leadership Academy and additional programming in 2021. Based on learnings from our 2020 online Academy, and due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we are planning on a hybrid model in 2021. Our goal is to create two or three small, in-person hubs, in accordance with all COVID regulations and safety measures, that will connect and collaborate virtually.In addition to the core GGU curriculum, the theme of our 2021 Academy will be Amplifying Stories. We will explore the importance of including individual stories and diverse perspectives in our societies' narratives. We will examine the role that new media platforms can play in amplifying stories and thereby increasing empathy, inclusivity, and a feeling of belonging. We will also consider the role of storytelling in raising awareness about social justice issues. The Girls Gearing Up 2021 cohort will also be eligible to participate in our year-round online support and our mentoring program for young women who are ready to take the next concrete steps in their personal and professional development. We are so grateful to all of our donors, who continue to fuel our movement to equip and inspire the next generation of globally-minded female leaders.
