”Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.“
Nelson Mandela

We regard it as unfair that there are still humans without access to public education. Etudes Sans Frontières – Studieren ohne Grenzen e.V. supports the encouragement of young people in crisis regions. Therefore, we offer scholarships to indigent students in our target regions. Students apply for a scholarship with an idea for a project with which they want to contribute to the reconstruction and development of their native region in a sustainable manner. By giving students a possibility to successfully complete academic studies, we promote the realization of their project idea. Beside their studies, our scholarship students do two hours of social work per week, e.g. awareness training about Aids or malaria. By organizing workshops, we encourage our scholarship students to improve their skills in various fields.

Our scholarship program in Kindu, a city in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, already exists for ten years. At the moment, we support fourteen students both financially and non-materially. This year, we would like to admit seven new scholarship students in our program. Our annual budget allows us to accept six students, but a dedicated juror has convinced us to work towards the possibility to admit a seventh student. In spring, we received not less than 172 applications, which were analyzed with the help of 70 voluntary jurors. Finally, we selected the most promising seven applicants.

Now, we still need 3000 € to finance the university education for a further young student! Please help us and support a student to realize his idea for the reconstruction and development of his or her homeland!

Our friendly society is run exclusively by students and is financed by donations. The current target regions are Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sri Lanka and Chechenia. Projects in Burundi and Guatamala are in process of being planned.
