The Clearing Barrel has become a cultural and communications center, not only for U.S. Army and Air Force members, but also for a growing group of younger and older political activists in Kaiserslautern and the nearby region. Music, movies, talks and discussions, legal and personal support, or just spontaneous get togethers are a part of the varied program offered by Meike, Patricia and a close knit group of volunteers.

But the past and continuing efforts, as we know, demand significant resources, both financial and human.
