Education in Ghana

I would like to go to Ghana as a volunteer at a Ghanaian school to support teachers there for helping the children to get a better perspective of their life.

Welcome to my page.

My name is Sarah, I’m 18 years old and I live in Germany. After school I’m going to do volunteer work in Ghana for one year. Ghana is a country in west of Africa and as in the most African countries, not every child has the chance to visit school.
Even the existing schools are suffering on a lack of teachers and education material.
The local organisation Inspire Global Ideas helps especially children from poor families to get a better education. This will help the children to get a better perspective for their future.
Inspire Global Ideas is cooperating with the German organisation KulturLife to get young people like me to Ghana as volunteer to support the staff in school.

My main tasks in Ghana will be helping the teachers with their lessons as well as supporting the weak children by giving individual extra tuition. Besides I would like to do do projects after school like sports projetcs.

A part of the costs of my volunteer work is financed by the German ministry
„Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung“. In addition I’m dependent on donations.
By donating money you would help very much to implement my project and to give Ghanaian children the chance of education.

Of course I will keep you informed about my project during the volunteer work.
For that please send an e-mail to If you have any questions you may contact me, too.
To learn more about the project you may watch this video of the Ghanaian organisation “Inspire Global Ideas”.

Best regards and thanks a lot
