I've been working for 3 weeks as a volunteer at ACER. The people there are doing a great job in showing the children a different view of the world they are living in. Even with a little money they change a lot in the childrens daily lives. Please support them.

In 2008 I went to visit this project with Philip A. I got to see the great work that is done and how welcoming this project is to all the people in the area especially the children. They are welcome there to read any of the books in the library, play games, sports, music and meet friends. This place is so amazing as it makes the children believe that they are valuable, that they can learn, that they can believe in themselves and also just enjoy the company of very friendly staff. I got a very good impression of this place and I really hope it can continue for a long time as this place is a vital part of many of these kids’ lives who might have difficulties in their lives otherwise.

Why do you think the project deserves to be supported?

I was one of the original trustees of the Children at Risk Foundation (CARF), the British arm of ACER and can vouch for the excellent work it does in Diadema.

Why do you think the project deserves to be supported?

As a former International Officer and Trade Adviser for UK Trade and
Investment, and an Economic Development Officer for Manchester City Council,
it was my privilege to visit Sao Paulo and ACER twice in the last four years.

I was able to witness first hand the tremendous work done by ACER In Diadema.
ACER has contributed greatly to the changing Urban environment by
facilitating comprehensive learning opportunities and community participation programmes
and provides much needed facilities, articulating excellent social,
environmental, cultural, and education programmes alongside the prevention of crime and
public safety policies.

Any donations or financial support which can be provided would be very welcome. This project is fantastic and deserves help.

Why do you think the project deserves to be supported?

I lived in Sao Paulo from 2003-2007 and for two years was an active volunteer with ACER helping with communications and with their local neighbourhood bazaar. I was at the inauguration of the library and know many of the people who work their personally. This is a FANTASTIC organisation, worth of support and donations. It has helped reduce the crime rate in this poor neighbourhood of Sao Paolo and is a tremendous force for good.
