Grassroots funding in progress!

SSWEN members are currently busy with their individual fundraising efforts for the National Women’s Conference coming up in August. Each member traveling from outside of the Sudan has a personal target to cover their own travel expenses and the ladies have developed fundraising letters, sponsorship packages and a fantastic SSWEN donation website.

We have three months to go and other preparations are well-underway. SSWEN members in Sudan and the US have been developing the conference program which will include a series of sessions on reconciliation, gender sensitive development and ways to ensure that women are included in the peace and reconstruction process. Since peace remains fragile in Sudan and in Darfur in particular this is a vital project and we are very excited to be able to invite a number of Darfurian women to join us. help us to fundraise for their travel here at betterplace.org!
