MindMe Therapievermittlung gGmbH is having an iOS app developed that supports mentally ill people in their search for available psychotherapists. *
Users can use the MindMe platform free of charge and directly on their smartphone. Above all, this platform offers the possibility of being guided directly through the complex search for psychotherapy. This includes the reimbursement procedure, which is generally very difficult. Users will also receive important documents such as effective applications, appeal letters, etc. and valuable information on how to make the search for psychotherapy as simple and as short as possible. Finally, it will also be possible to contact MindMe counselors directly if individual and personal help is needed or if questions arise. Help with specific steps in the search for psychotherapy can also be requested directly via the app. MindMe then takes over certain steps and their effort for the person concerned.
What the app can do. At a glance:
- Shows the direct path to psychotherapy and through the reimbursement process.
- Enables higher chances of free, private health services (psychotherapy).
- In many cases, this can avoid the months- or years-long waiting list until therapy begins.
- The effort of searching for therapy can easily be handed over to MindMe. This makes the search for psychotherapy much easier for those affected.
- The app can be used anonymously. Only if MindMe is to take over some of the effort, an e-mail address and zip code are required.
- The app provides valuable information on how to make the search for available psychotherapists as easy and short as possible.
- Effective and important documents such as applications and appeals are placed in one place.
- The app will be free of charge.
Schedule and use of funds
The app, and therefore this project, is expected to be successfully completed by the end of June 2022. 100% of the use of funds will go towards the cost of developing the app. This includes design, programming of the frontend and backend, publishing to the App Store and ASO (App Store Optimization), and hosting costs for the first year.
* The app is not developed by MindMe, but externally. Thus, the app represents a planned investment by MindMe and this serves the charitable purpose. In the end, the finished app will have the same purpose, successfully confirmed by the tax office: To support people in their search for psychotherapy. MindMe is therefore only the provider of the app, not the developer.
