Dear friends of Tweyambe and donors,

with 40 students who started at Tweyambe Secondary School we reached a first milestone. The children are settled at the school now.

The next milestone will be solar energy and clean water:  In March, Prof. Wolfgang Schade, my Rotarian friend and expert at the Fraunhofer Institute is planning to install solar energy and clean water. A Voltaview mini-grid system will provide clean electricity using 2nd life batteries from electric cars at night. Teachers and students will be trained to use and maintain the system. On top of being a secondary school Tweyambe is planned to also be a training center for other operators of these devices in north-east Tansania and Uganda.

At Tweyambe my Rotarian friend, Erasto Kishula, is currently collecting photos and short letters from students in order to introduce them to all donors with a full year scholarship. We'll come back to you and also introduce a few stories of our students here, too.
