We love to be outside in summer, especially in our own garden. Unfortunately, not everybody has their own garden – sometimes not even a balcony. Urban Gardening is a great alternative. Flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables grow in these green oases in the middle of the city. These Urban Gardening projects breathe new life into wasteland – an area that elsewise would just be a dull, grey concrete slab.
The newly designed open space gives city slickers the opportunity to nuzzle in the ground or just enjoy the sun. Regular watering, trimming, fertilizing and repotting are small jobs that have to be done. In the fall, everybody is happy about the harvest.
But a garden can be so much more than just a garden : a conservation project to conserve ancient types of fruits or vegetables, for example, a therapy center for traumatized kids, an income source for an entire family, or a sucessful project for integration.
You can find some of the nicest green projects, with gardens all over the world, on this portal.
