Health Concern is a community based organization to drum for support and empower girls and young women on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) which has been emerging issue. The project focuses on raising awareness among girls in and out of school on MHM and meets their feminine hygiene needs.
The goal is to ensure that every young and underprivileged girl receives a dignity sanitary towel so that they can attend school, university or work in comfort and dignity.
Most of the girls from slums, rural areas and the homeless are practicing MHM unhygienically due to lack of awareness, appropriate information & economic hindrance on affording hygienic products. Due to that limitation they have no choice but to use improvised materials during their period. These options range from using rags and scraps of old clothes, to wads of toilet paper or newspaper, which are uncomfortable and ineffective.
