About us

The support of children of sex workers who would otherwise grow up in brothels, as well as the protection of (forced) sex workers in Bangladesh are the goal of the non-profit Bondhu Förderverein Deutschland e.V. who support the local aid organization Shapla Mohila Sangstha.
The main projects include a boys' and girls' home, along with an educational program for underage girls who have been liberated from prostitution. Additionally, as a small NGO, we can provide uncomplicated, individual assistance to those in particularly dire circumstances.
On-site management of the project is led by the Bangladeshi couple Chanchala Mondal and Shyamal Adhikary, who serve as directors of Shapla Mohila Sangstha (Lily Women's Aid Organisation). The Bondhu Project was initiated during the filming of the documentary "Was tun," which also highlights the unbearable living conditions within the brothel environment and the invaluable work of Shapla Mohila Sangstha.
