Research. Educate. Alleviate.
11 million people in Germany suffer from tinnitus and hearing disorders. The causes of tinnitus are still largely unknown. Research must finally be better supported! That is why the German Foundation Tinnitus and Hearing Charité is committed to research and science communication. And it promotes prevention: we are currently developing new learning materials for day-care centres and schools - young volunteers inform especially the "little" guests at large festivals about hearing protection - so that suffering does not occur in the first place.
Another focus of our work is educating people about how closely hearing loss and tinnitus are linked to dementia if no therapy is given. Because what many people do not know: Anyone can get tinnitus, regardless of age, gender or profession. The condition is often caused by noise and stress.
