About us
We help children in Kenya and other East African countries by supporting selected community-based organizations and children's centers there. "Tuma" is an abbreviation for "Tumaini" and means hope in Swahili. "Kimbi" stands for "Kimbilio", which means refuge.
Originally we were named Tareto Maa Germany e.V. and exclusively supported the Tareto Maa Center in Kenya. Today we provide assistance to various self-help groups and small organizations that care for orphans, girls who have had to flee from genital mutilation and forced marriage, as well as children who have been victims of violence or need help due to disabilities or serious illnesses.

Den Schulbesuch fortführen / Continuing school attendance
Neben den Kindern im Mary Faith und im Shiphrah Center, denen wir in diesem Jahr geholfen haben, neu an die Highschool zu gehen, setzen wir auch unsere Unterstützung für die Mädchen und Jungen fort, die bereits auf der Highschool sind. Denn wir wollen natürlich, dass sie die Schule abschließen können. Das gilt auch für 15 Jugendliche im Mary Faith Kinderzentrum, die wir schon seit längerem unterstützen und für die wir im ersten Schuldrittel dieses Jahres die Schulgebühren und Schulmaterialien finanziert haben. Jetzt gerade sind Ferien in Kenia. Ende April startet dann das zweite Schuldrittel. Und auch da sind wir an der Seite dieser Kinder. Hier sind ein paar der Fotos, die wir aus Kenia von den Schülerinnen und Schülern bekommen haben.

Because we want them to be able to finish school. Right now, there are school holidays in Kenya. The second term starts at the end of April. And there too, we are at the side of these children.
