What's it about?

About Us
In the video above, one of our team members recounts her experience of the 2005 Mumbai floods in which her sister was stuck inside their school.  She emphasizes on how infrastructure and training helped a big metro like Mumbai get back to business as usual. The same possibilities are not available to children in remote towns and villages with poor infrastructure.

Save the Children trains teachers, families and children on how to be prepared in case of a disaster and ensures that children’s education is not impacted by it.

Our team is a part of the WHU MBA program today, but many children are unable to finish basic schooling when disaster interrupts their education.  Make a contribution and help ensure that their future continues to shine bright.  It's Time to Share!  We will also be out on the streets of Düsseldorf over the next few days, and look forward to meeting you in person.

Education Safe from Disaster
35.6 million people were affected by natural disasters in 2015 and over 41 million people have been affected this year.  Over 2 Million children have been affected by disasters this year until now, and the number is expected to increase.

This global initiative from Save the Children focuses on:
-        “Zero Children killed or injured at school during a disaster.”
-        “Zero days of school lost due to disaster.”

Why do we focus on donations for children in the Asia-Pacific region?
  • 3/4 of all natural disasters happen in this region, damaging the infrastructure and preventing children from going to school and receiving basic quality education.
  • Your donation supports the school safety initiatives in India and Philippines. Such initiatives concentrate on safe learning facilities, school disaster management, risk reduction and resilience education.
  • You can make a difference to children in areas where disasters disrupted their livelihoods, and support the 0/0 Goal of Save the Children.

How much of my donation will go toward the program?
  • We donate all the received funds to “Save the Children”.

What is the impact of my donation?
  • 84.5% of your contributions will directly reach the children.
  • With 45 Dollars you can train one teacher in implementing a School Disaster Management System which can save lives of children during emergencies.
  • With 28 Dollars you can provide resources and materials for one community Disaster Risk Reduction training course.

How can you donate after our fundraising has been finished?
  • You can contribute on this web page until this Friday 7pm (CET) after which you can donate here.
