Do you have experience that could help us at Street Child research and develop new projects to provide children with access to education?
Street Child is a charity dedicated to empowering some of the most vulnerable children in the world by giving them the chance to go to school and giving their families the sustainable means to keep them there.
We are looking for people with relevant experience to help us expand and advance a series of projects in South Asia by researching and developing opportunities for children to access education that is inclusive, sustainable and life-saving.
Working alongside the Street Child team, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Overseeing the research and implementation of projects
Coordinating primary and secondary research at field sites using bespoke methodologies and methods, including appropriate tools for research with children, their communities and other relevant stakeholders
Monitoring and evaluating the progress of projects to ensure they are on target to reach the outlined timeframes and intended impact
Liaising and working in collaboration with local partners and stakeholders
Identifying potential local and international funders and writing in depth funding proposals to these organisations as required
Creating research papers based on data collected from the field which provide recommendations for Street Child and relevant stakeholders
Highly self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to work as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan and implement plans in a structured manner
Excellent communication skills, fluent English, both oral and written
Independent and able to make decisions with little guidance
Ability to be flexible and to work outside of your specific duties when needed, have fun and laugh along with a sometimes unpredictable environment!
An interest in South Asia, international affairs and/or international development would be of benefit
The successful applicant must be prepared to live in very basic conditions and to travel independently in-country. Food, accommodation and flights are at the applicant’s own expense. A more detailed breakdown of costs and expenses will be provided for those applicants selected for interview. A fundraising commitment is also required.
