Anfaani (blessed) Children's Home (ACH) is a local non governmental organization (NGO) located in Tamale. It caters for abandoned, orphaned and motherless children between the ages of 0-3 years. ACH was established was founded by the late Madam Fati Issaka and received its first child in January, 2002.
Our vision is to provide a home and an opportunity for orphans and abandoned children to begin life in an enabling environment and under responsible guardianship that guarantee them a better foundation for success and fulfillment in life.
The mission of Anfaani Children's Home is to nurture children, who through no fault of their own become orphans or are abandoned by their parents and family, until their third birthday. After this time they may either be properly adopted or transferred to well establish orphanages with educational facilities.
Volunteering in the Anfaani Children's home
Volunteers in ACH support the staff in taking care of these young children. Volunteers also assist in general administration work, cleaning the home and cooperate with other members to achieve the objectives of the Anfaani Children's Home.
It is very important that the volunteers like to work with (mainly small) children. It could be an advantage if the volunteer has experience of working with kids or a didactic background. A volunteer should be humble, be able to give love to the children and must be able to adapt to new situations. He/she should be open to the children, staff and other volunteers.
