Born to be free
Finally 10 of the June 2012 confiscated Palawan Forest Turtles were set free last June 8. We released them with radio transmitters in a proposed protected area and will monitor their movements for one month. This will help us to decide if some or all of the other repatriated turtles can be released in the same area. For our researcher its a tough job because its rainy season and he has to camp in the forest and follow the turtle day and night. But the baby turtles deserve this effort after been a year in captivity. Wish them good luck! Best regards, Sabine
