Palestinian Psychologist, Expressive Arts Therapist and Peace Seeker Amanda Alhusainatis working in trauma healing with individuals and groups in Palestine, Israel and India. She volunteered and participated from an early age in peace and dialogue programs locally and internationally.

“I come from a region which is always subjected to conflict, war and trauma. I have always believed that we humans can make a difference if we try to step into the other’s shoes and connect with our oneness within. Witnessing the second Intifada in Palestine when I was 12 years old, I have seen a lot of pain, trauma and death.

As a teenager, life doesn’t seem easy really and to add to it external political trauma was a challenge of resilience, to find joy and hope that life can be lived even under such circumstances, where even movement is restricted. The world simply did not feel like a safe place to be vulnerable in. There began my personal journey of self and inner peace search.

To think “I could change the world” and then go back to reality and see it’s the same or even worse, was a nightmare and left me feeling so helpless many times, that I wanted to give up on trying. But as I grew within, my interest grew in understanding human psychology and how to transform and heal trauma has become my passion and the profession of my life”.

We wish to support Amanda in building the foundations for a Palestinian Pocket Group that may work closely with the already existing Israeli Pocket Group.
