Equipment: Digital Hearing Aid
Beneficiaries: Mr. Shiv Kumar (left) & Mr. Gowtham

Shiv Kumar (aged 7) is a mentally challenged child with a moderate mental disability by birth with hearing problem. He comes from a below poverty line family; his father is a plumber and his mother a home mater. He was admitted to Chiguru in 2015. The hearing aid helps in his overall development.

Gowtham (aged 21) is a cerebral Palsy diagnosed child by birth who hails from a lower middle class family. He is second child and has an elder brother who is a normal child. Gowtham joined Chiguru in 2005. His father runs a petty shop (small corner shop) and mother is a home
maker. Gowtham could not cope up with studies at school. He was then admitted to Chiguru with sever speech and hearing problem without ADL (Activity of Daily Living). He received Speech Therapy at Chiguru. Now Gowtham is independent and does tasks like photo copying and works
in an internet café for 4 hours in the evening. He has also learnt to do little money transitions. The hearing aid to Gowtham enables him to listen and respond well, which is critical for his growth path.
