To date, teacher training has included 30 public elementary school teachers in Savannakhet (Feb. 2011), around 60 teachers in VTE (Feb 2011) 60 newly graduated elementary school teachers (June 2011), 250 public school teachers in Savannakhet studying for a BA degree (July 2011). The sessions are short, but trainees quickly understand how signing can be used for teaching English. For their self-study, there is the signing book, lesson plans for 5 levels, videos to show the signs and audio for pronunciation practice. It is important to provide teacher training for the rural teachers, but this involves inviting them to the city and is costly for them.
