The book is complete. It is 140 pages with 600 signs done with digital photos and directional arrows. The title of the book is "Thumbs Up". The final editing was difficult. People couldn't agree on some signs. We had meetings to decide the final signs for "Vientiane".

I have taken 150 books to the deaf school in Vientiane and given 60 to the Deaf Unit. 100 were taken to the school in Luang Prabang for the students and their parents. The students were delights and amazed to see a book of their own language. Next month I will go to Savannakhet to the other deaf school.

There is still a tremendous need to expand. Laos should have a lao Sign Language dictionary, but this will take more work. For now, I will work on teacher training.

Gestures and sign language work wonderfully when teaching English to hearing students. I have tried this method to all ages and it gets students laughing and participating. Retention is excellent. I call this method "Action English". I have approached some teacher training colleges and will also work with a large Lao NGO to approach as many schools as possible.
