Abstinence Kenya is a non governmental and non-profit making organization that plans to promote total abstinence and assist with decreasing the AIDS Epidemic, other sexually transmitted diseases, promote healthy, long-lasting marriages, decrease teenage pregnancy rate, and eliminate other life controlling issues such as drugs and alcohol by impacting constructive social norms on them and reducing negative peer pressure amongst them youth through peer education and other innovative programs.
Abstinence Kenya is involved in different activities that address issues affecting the young people, this activities fall under different programs designed to meet different specific needs that the youth are facing. These programs are:-

 Peer Mentor-ship trainings
 T4Y (Truth for Youth)
 Community outreach
 Pat’s angels (girls club)
 Theater

All our programs are designed, planned and implemented by our members in conjunction with Abstinence Kenya officials who are competent and certified abstinence peer mentors. Abstinence Kenya Currently has over 600 members and growing.

Our mission remains to engage the youth in activities and programs that will enable them explore their social surrounding facilitating values, principals and support to youth, both in and out of school with an age – appropriate. In this regard we have initiated a new campaign dubbed “keep it looked”. In this campaign we are creating awareness and sensitizing the students on the importance of abstaining from premarital sex and from drugs and substance abuse, giving them strategies to effectively achieving abstinent.

Pat's Angels

With the vision "A safe and prosperous future for girls" Pats is an arm of ABSTINENCE KENYA; Pat’s angels provides a place where girls and young women can grow, learn, have fun, and develop confidence in themselves and their ability to make a difference in the world. By delivering strong arts, literacy, entrepreneurship skills, health and leadership programs. It offers the girls a virtual chance to explore exciting fields available in the corporate market as well. Basically we help the girls with:

Establishing a Safe Space, where girls feel respected and safe to ask difficult questions and get honest answers.  Building Key Skills, which includes effective communication, critical thinking and creative expression.
Engaging in creative Arts and Action, which includes performances and discussions that teach girls to be proud of their bodies

Pat’s angels Football tournament

We plan to hold a GIRLS football tournament,to diversify approaches of increasing access to ASRH services and information to young people with special emphasis on girls, promoting abstinence and behavior change especially among the Muslim youths, the resource centre will strengthen the two girls’ football teams already established.

The clubs will continue to carry out life skills sessions with the Resource centre Peer mentors prior to each training session. The sessions will cover RH issues, HIV and AIDS and drug abuse. The clubs will be supported with training kits and uniforms. The centre will organize an annual games tournament during the 3rd quarter of the year, specifically during the August holiday. The event shall bring together 16 girl’s teams to compete in various games.
