Connecting with nature is our slogan, the reason why we advocate for it, is that we are living in a world where the ecosystem’s divide is escalating. So, People with good nature connectedness can generate many positive emotions, such as calmness, joy, and creativity, and can facilitate concentration. Nature connectedness is also associated with lower levels of poor mental health, particularly lower depression, and anxiety.
Mazingira is a Swahili word that means Environment. Mazingira Plus is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 2019 as a community-based organization (CBO) operating in the Dar es Salaam region. On May 11, 2022, it was updated and registered as a non-governmental organization under NGO Act No.24 of 2002 operating on the Tanzanian mainland under the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups. The organization envisions having a nation that is a clean, healthy, and well-conserved environment.
