The organization "Future Hope People" will carry out its yearly
development project in Ghana, which runs under the title "Helping
schools is making education possible." With the help of volunteers we want to produce 120 much-needed chairs and tables for the Junior/Secondary School in Kissi, Ghana. The reason for this is that the number of chairs and tables in the school is still insufficient so that many children have to sit on the floor during class.
This is, two years after the school has been upgraded to a secondary
school, no longer acceptable. Despite repeated promises of the local
school administration no new chairs and tables have been purchased.
The number of pupils far exceeds the number of available seating
possibilities.
Our organization has a long-lasting contact with the school and took
an active part in the expansion of the building in the year 2005.
The material costs for the current project are ca. 2,200 Euro.
Together with the German partner organization "Future Hope People
Deutschland e.V." the organization is looking for sponsors, companies
and volunteers who can pay part of the costs and/or can support us
actively in the project.

Please help us to give the children of Kissi the chance to get a
proper school education!

  Hallo! Ich unterstütze seit geraumer Zeit einen Jungen, Jacob, und ich hoffe ich kann ihn (und natürlich die Organisation) Ende des Jahres endlich in Ghana besuchen. Großes Engagement von Djarbah (toll der Youth Club!) , ab und an ein netter Brief von meinem Patenjungen, Zeugnisse aus der Schule.... so weit weg und doch so nah, das freut mich sehr!   Ich (Teresa, 26) habe im Januar 2007 einen Monat in Kissi in der English-Arabic School verbracht und dort zusammen mit meiner Mutter in der Schule gearbeitet. Es war toll zu sehen, was die Organisation Future-Hope-People durch hart erarbeitete Spendengelder geschafft haben! Jedoch fehlen noch immer viele Dinge (z.B. Möbel, Schulmaterialien, etc.), um ein normales Unterrichten zu ermöglichen.

  In Kontakt gekommen bin ich mit Future Hope People durch meinen Vater, der im Rahmen seines Studiums der Sozialarbeit das erste Mal Ghana bereiste. Dort lernte er den Gründer der Organisation in Ghana, Djarbah Meshach Quarcoo kennen, dessen unbürokratisches Engagement ihn direkt begeisterte. Fasziniert von Land und Leuten gründete mein Vater nach seiner Rückreise den Verein Future Hope People Deutschland e.V. als deutsches Pendant. Seit diesem ersten Besuch fuhr er bis zu seinem Tod jedes Jahr für mehrere Monate nach Ghana und konnte sich ein Bild machen, was aus den in Deutschland gesammelten Spendengeldern enstanden ist. Selbst war ich zwar leider noch nicht vor Ort, konnte mir aber aus Fotos und Erzählungen von meinem Vater, Djarbah (der - dank der Unterstützung der deutschen Entwicklungshilfe - einmal im Jahr Deutschland im Interesse der Organisation besucht), anderen engagierten Helfern sowie regelmäßigem Kontakt mit dem heutigen Leiter der deutschen Organisation - Massimo Meurer- ein Bild von dem Projekt machen und sagen, dass wirklich alles getan wird, um die Menschen dort bestmöglich zu unterstützen.
