Promoting cultural development in Palestine, this professional Acting School provides young Palestinians with new and creative tools for creating a better future for themselves.

As of September 2008, The Freedom Theatre (www.thefreedomtheatre.org) is running a three-year professional Acting School in Jenin, Occupied Palestine. The Acting School is currently on their first international tour in Germany and Austria with their play "Fragments of Palestine"!

By participating in the Theatre School, students have the opportunity to develop a professional career in the field of theatre, while at the same time developing their communication and presentation skills, as well as their ability to think and act freely and creatively. Such skills can enable the students to become leading actors, not only on stage, but also in their society.

The Theatre School curriculum includes acting, dance and movement, voice training and music, drama therapy, pantomime, masks, commedia dell ’arte, circus skills and clownery, text analysis, history of theatre in the world, social and cultural studies, as well as community theatre and training children and youth.

Yearly productions are also part of the programme. In 2009 these included a controversial production of "Animal Farm" by George Orwell, as well as the latest production "Fragments of Palestine".
