Our project DYADE is an institution for mothers and their children who have suddenly fallen into a crisis situation for which they need intensive support and need someone to help them deal with their situation in general. Such crises may be triggered by mental stress, serious social problems, pregnancy and birth, critical life events, emergencies and the mental illness of the mother.
Families experiencing these crises need a place where they can get relief, support and attention.
There is no such institution in Berlin that could admit mothers and their children together on short notice and without complications. This means that mothers are separated from their children if there are no family members who can help out. Small children suffer particularly if they are separated from their mother. With our project DYADE, we offer a safe haven for mother and child.
The World Childhood Foundation under the auspices of Queen Silvia of Sweden supports the project.
DYADE is a residence providing space for four families. The families are provided for around the clock, relieved, supported and advised.
Pedagogues, social workers, educators, psychologists, doctors and pediatric nurses work on the project.

Betterplace includes the idea to advance the pro-activeness of human beings and holds hereby the position of a mediator. Therefore I see betterplace as a meaningful, eligible and supportable platform.

To change the way of giving. To make it direct, transparent and tangible. To see how our small individual contributions make real difference. To break some old rules of development. To enable change on grassroots level. One to one.
