betterplace guarantees that your donation will be forwarded to the project of your choice without any administrative fees - 100%! So how is this possible?

betterplace is not funded by your donations.

We do not charge any commissions in order to cover our running costs. We believe that the money should go where it is needed and where you intended it to go. That is why betterplace directs the money donated entirely to the project you choose.

Furthermore, the charities represented on betterplace are also committed to this principle. Each donation received through the betterplace platform is forwarded to the individual project, and is not being used to cover the administration costs of the organisation.

Why do charities agree to this? Because they see betterplace as an opportunity to reach a new and young audience, for whom nothing matters more, than to be able to follow exactly where their donated money goes to.

Needless to say, betterplace needs funds to operate. Office space has to be rented, up to date computers do not come cheap and – although many of us work pro bono – our staff (currently 12) has to live from their earnings.

The running costs are supported by two carriers:

• on the one hand by private supporters, who are convinced of the betterplace idea – the direct connection between people who need help and people wanting to help..
• on the other hand by companies, who are offered CSR services through our subsidiary company betterplace solutions, which actively engage their clients and employees.

Furthermore, betterplace carries all financial transaction fees (credit card - direct debit – and PayPal fees) including when you transfer money to us, as well as when we forward this money to the project beneficiary at home and abroad. The only transaction fees that we do not cover, are those imposed by foreign banks to receive the money. This fee differs from country to country and from bank to bank and only concerns money transfer to foreign countries.

We guarantee that none of your personal data will be forwarded to any company or organisation that we are in cooperation with.

We also guarantee that "personalised advertisement", a financing scheme used by many internet platforms, is not be used on betterplace.
