100% of your donations are forwarded.

betterplace guarantees that 100% of your donation will be forwarded, without any deductions, to the project carrying organisation of your choice or, if it is an individual project, to the project responsible. The organisations or respective project responsibles who receive the forwarded donations are required, according to the conditions of our project registration policy, to use the money for the realisation of the work and single needs as described in their project descriptions for which donations are collected.

So how is it possible for betterplace to forward 100 percent of the donations?
betterplace is not funded by your donations.

We do not charge any commissions in order to cover our running costs. We believe that the money should go where it is needed and where you intend it to go. That is why betterplace directs the money donated entirely to the recipients.

Needless to say, betterplace requires funds to operate. Office space has to be rented, up-to-date computers do not come cheap and – although many of us work pro bono – our staff (currently 14) has to live from their earnings.

The running costs are supported by two carriers:

• on the one hand by private sponsors who are convinced of the betterplace idea – the direct connection between people who need help and people wanting to help. You can also choose to join this group, by donating a few Euros to betterplace on top of your project donations in the course of the donation payment process.
• on the other hand by companies, who are offered CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) services through our subsidiary company betterplace solutions, which actively engage their clients and employees.

Furthermore, betterplace carries all financial transaction fees (credit card - direct debit – and PayPal fees) including when you transfer money to us, as well as when we forward this money to the project beneficiary at home and abroad. The only transaction fees that we do not cover, are those imposed by foreign banks to receive the money. This fee differs from country to country and from bank to bank and only concerns money transfer to foreign countries.
