La Esperanza Granada is always seeking Classroom Assistants and Tutors to work in the primary schools located in the poor barrios of Granada. As an assistant, your primary responsibility is to support the teacher and help keep the class running smoothly. As a tutor, you will work individually with young children in the classroom who may have difficulties learning or trouble with a specific topic. Your role in the classroom is to stimulate and develop the children's interest in learning
We value the time you are willing to give. There are no program fees to volunteer with La Esperanza Granada. There is no registration fee. We ask each volunteer to make a $20 contribution to administration costs in order to continue using all donations directly for the schools.

Volunteers work 5 – 7 hours per day, four to five days per week. We prefer a time commitment of 8 weeks and an intermediate level of Spanish. Your volunteer position may depend on on-going projects, your time commitment, level of Spanish, previous experience, and our current needs.

We welcome long term volunteers, and often have volunteers who stay 6 months and longer. We also provide inexpensive volunteer housing so volunteers can stay longer and more economically.
