School furniture for the children in Pengo

Up to now there are several types of furnitures we let build for the Sabrina Primary School and the Bwagamoyo Nursery School in Pengo: Desks in different sizes, sitting groups with 6 chairs for the nursery, teachers' tables and chairs, shelves for the classrooms and a cabinet for the headmasters' office.

This time the concern is the furniture of the new school hall in Pengo which will be built soon near the new school kitchen. The place under the old mango tree where the children sat on logs or on the soil is too far away from the new kitchen. This place is also too small to give shadow for all children and the children should be used to eat at a table (hardly none of them can eat with fork and knife).

For this we need tables and benched. We planed the hall to be big enough for 300 children even if at the moment there are more than 350 children. But we assume that if child no. 301 gets his meal and searches for a place to sit, child no. 1 has already finished his lunch.

To use the area of the hall most efficiently we want to build 10 tables - each 5 meters long - with 2 benches in the same length.

We need your support to finance this furniture. We want to buy the two hardwood trees and we want to pay the wood cutter just in time so that the carpenter can start his work. It would be great if the children could have this hall before the beginning of the rainy season in the mid of april.

In total we calculated a need of 1450 Euro. This we will upload in small chunks step by step. Up to now we already got 1015 Euro via the donation call of Gisi and Stuart. Thus the toal need is reduced to 435 Euro. - Many thanks for this. Read more
