Since the beginning of protests in March 2011, there has been an increasing humanitarian crisis in Syria. Thousands of people are displaced in refugee camps, or are struggling to find food and heating for the winter. Medical aid is needed too. We decided to set this project up to help some of those needy families because we are hearing first hand what the situation is like. This project is to enable relief to reach those families. Money raised will be used to purchase basic humanitarian relief for those in the greatest need. The biggest challenges involved are in actually delivering the aid to those who need it, In partnership with organisations like the red cross we hope to be able to make a difference.

    Hello,

I was not able to find any contact information for your organization on the website. Please let me know if there is a way to contact you or someone within the organization directly in regards to a volunteer opportunity. I would like to offer my time within al-Zaatari or another camp.

    Kind Regards,

    Dear Mr. Whitehead,

we are a German non-governmental organization, working in areas affected by disasters and conflicts with children and juveniles with a focus on emergency pedagogy. That means, our work consists of pedagogical, therapeutic and medical aspects and we are specialized in working with traumatized youths.

We started our activities in 2006 in Lebanon and since then we gained a lot of experience through different interventions, especially in setting up Child Friendly Spaces (e.g. in Kenya, Haiti, Japan, China, Indonesia, Gaza-strip) with a focus on trauma pedagogy.

At the moment we are thinking about an intervention in the Syria-crisis, either in syria or in one of the neighboring countries. As a member of "Aktionsbündnis Deutschland hilft" we dispose of secured funds for this project.

I found the website of your organisation and your projects seems to be very interesting for us. Would you generally be interested in cooperating with other organisations?

I would be very glad if you could send an email to me (m.landgraff@freunde-waldorf.de) and give some more detailed information about the background of your organisation and the project.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
    Yours
    Malte Landgraff
