The Kirkuk Center for Torture Victims, active in North Iraq, seeks support for its therapeutic healing garden with animal-aided therapy in the city of Chamchamal. Children and youth will be able to visit the gardens, attend to the animals and become active as gardeners where they can grow flowers, herbs and vegetable plants. The children will be guided by pedagogues as well as psychotherapists. The activities in the gardens and with the animals (such as donkeys, goats, rabbits, birds and others) activate a number of therapeutical healing processes and restore trust and confidence in the children.
A professional animal caretaker and a veterinarian will take care of the animal's well-being.

For this project, we are partnering with the Evangelical Church Frankfurt am Main.

Hallo Leif, eines der Fotos zeigt junge Bäume, die in einen Seitenweg gepflanzt wurden. Da die Baumscheiben keine tiefe Kantstein-Einfassung haben, werden die Wurzeln in ein paar Jahren den Weg zerstören. Hallo Michel,
entschuldige meine verzögerte Antwort. Das ist ein guter Einwand, und ich kenne das Problem auch nur zu gut mit diesen Stolperfallen. Leider sind die Bäume auf dem Bild aber von der Stadt gepflanzt und gehören uns nicht. Aber vielleicht können wir es vor Ort mal ansprechen. :)
