Power Minds Youth project status

Dear friends,supporters,volunteers we would like to share with you our bad news. On 1st august 3 directors of power minds youth organisation who are managing the kasanje projects that your are continuing to donate and 3 visitors from Germany organisation called "people help people" Germany who were coming to visit and show their support to the projects and the community of kasanje. It was a nusty accident that has claimed the life of our Director for livelihood David Kayongo Musoke who was also in the car. We buries him on 8th august at his ancestral home villaga bombo road. The rest of the direstors Mr Nicholas Ssenjala sustained injuries on hiis head and hand,Kyambadde David had an arm injury and leg dislocation and both of them are under doctors close attention and examination. Our visitors Mr Bernhard Wingerberg Director of People help people in Germany and his family Renate and Meilin Wingerberg are now back in Germany also with injuries undergoing treatment. We will pray for them to recover as we pray for our remaining directors to get back on their feet.

Otherwise our Kasanje youth projects are still active and the rehabilitation is still continuing with support from Idstein youth Center and now the interior of the youth center under rehabil;itation has been completed successfully and the next phase will be fixing windoors and doors,therefore we call upon your continued support and donations as every euro donated makes a very big impact in the young people in Kasanje village. Dear friends Uganda is ranked amonged the least developed countries in the world with its citizens now living on half a dollar a day,however the government has still kept a low profile to the youth problems and also making empty promises to the youth. This has now become a responsibilty for non profit youth organisations like Power Minds Youth Organisation to address youth problems but these non profit Organisation have non or little resources to address the youth problems in Uganda.   Uganda has a large young population; approximately 52.7% of the population is under 15 years of age. One out of in every four Uganda’s (23.3 %) is an adolescent and one in every three of (37.4%) is a young person. Wakiso district like any other district in Uganda is burdened with the level at which the young population is giving without proper programming for sustainable community development. Kasanje is among the many sub counties mandate to plan for the young population. The burden of the youth is more in this sub county. The sub-county is the best level to address the basis reeds and rights of the young. This includes economic empowerment, functional literacy and overall well being. All youth should be able to access primitive and sustainable economic empowerment. This will ensure sustainable community development. Today powerminds youth organizations is determined to spear head a youth empowerment for sustainable development through its partnership with our friends from Idstein Youth Center Germany and Wakiso district, Kasanje sub-county in particular.Therefore all donations go to building and equiping the youth center so that in future it will embrass most of the problems of the young people in kasanje subcounty

Youth in Uganda under Health Risk

"Over 20 Million Fake Condoms on the Market in Uganda" As uganda progresses in fighting HIV/AIDS together with its development partners,its efforts has been struck by flooding of fake chines condoms. This act was exposed by whistlers in the Uganda bureau of standards who are true Ugandan caring citizens. These condoms are distrubuted to innocent youth free of charge since they are the hungry lions... of condoms. These condoms don't have a brand name but only with manufacturing dates and expired dates. However this has aroused outcry from law makers in the Ugandan parliament who summoned the Ministry of Health who vehemently denied the allegations. So as youth we call upon the Uganda bureau of standards to scrutinise chinese products without favour. Together we can be responsible Ugandans to our country and fellow citizens. Source: NTVUganda

Empowering yoth to fight poverty in Uganda

Dear friends and supporters Power Minds Youth Organisation would like to thank you all our supporters and donors for the donations to our project empower youth to fight poverty in Uganda. We want to share our progress with you all,This project started by aquiring a building that would be a youth center for the young people in the rural area of kasanje in wakiso district one of the most poverty striken districts in Uganda. Through your donations we managed to aquire and lease a building for 5 years but the building structure was dilapidated and needed much building and renovation to provide a good human enviroment. Still through your continous support and donations we have started on renovating the building first the office blocks then the main building will follow. This is by plastering,painting blocking and floor building and roofing.

However we still need more of your support to buy cement,blocks paint,iron sheets,solar energy,chairs,computers,sowing machines,drums and other equipments that will be beneficia to the youg people in this village.

After the completion of the renovation project,the center will benefit all young people in kasanje village as it will be a meeting point,entreprenuer building center,mentoring center,skills development center,resource center,art and crafts practical center,social center etc.

The beneficiaries of this project who are young people are very anxious to benefit from this project.

Globally, 85 percent of the world’s young people live in developing countries. An increasing number of these young people are growing up in cities and villages. In many cities and villages on the African continent, more than 70 per cent of inhabitants are under the age of 30. Young people, and especially young girls and women, are the most vulnerable to social problems caused by unemployment and poverty. With more than 200 million youth living in poverty globally, there is a clear need to meaningfully engage and support youth growing up in today’s rapidly urbanizing world.
