The biggest hope expecting parents have is that their child will be born healthy. What happens when these hopes remain unfulfilled and the child is born seriously ill? And the diagnose affirms an incurable illness? These families step into a new phase of life, where their future dreams are destroyed from one second to the other.
With fear and worry about the beloved child, the daily rhythm will be turned around completely. These parents face a life with a child ,that must be taken care of, nursed and watched 24hours a day. There will be no time for holidays and recreational break outs together as family. Psychological, physical and financial burden become unbearably serious.
We from Bärenherz (Heart of a Teddy ) try to assist these families, quick and unbureaucratic. Within our stationary children's hospice we care for seriously ill children, to take burden of and accompany their families for a few hours, a day or week. Through regular assistance we enable these families to find leisure time with their children.
While children are looked after, parents find time for themselves and the rest of the family to restore their energy to care for their ill child.
In order to offer assistance we need your support. For 440€ a day one seriously ill child can be taken care of within our children's hospice Baerenherz. Our goal is to make assistance possible for as many families that need our help. You as supporter can make this possible.
