Walter and his family live in an informal settlement in the outskirts of the city of Buenos Aires. In this community Habitat for Humanity already has several housing projects. Walter asked architects from Habitat for Humanity for assistance to make his housing dream come true. His dream is to build a house in which his family could grow and be happy. The family described the house to the architects and they started to draw it.
Walter’s dream gradually started to take shape. The architects outlined the tasks he will have to perform and how to do them. They also gave him an estimate of the materials he will need to buy for each stage, for example, number of bricks and cement bags for the walls of a new bedroom.
Walter is looking forward to the further visits of the architects and is hoping that one day volunteers will come to help him build his dream because on his own Walter would need ten years to build it.
