I met Marcus Vetter and Fakhri Hamad in Offenbach (Germany) where they presented their new film "After the Silence" which is absolutely admirable and very seizing. There I decided to support their project in Jenin which I find important in the process of peace between Palestinians and Israelis. I would so much like to do more than just donate money and I hope that I will find the opportunity to visit the Cinema in Jenin one day. But in the meantime I think that the best way to help is donate money, even small sums, and spread the project.Please log in to answer. -

well ... it was dream for me ...
my bro start and joined the project from the very bugening and after four month he decided to traveled away to NORWAY coz it was like somth im posible to b ....
imediatly i started to think and i said .. hey ... y ... ?
ok i will join the project and i will check wta going on .....
i went ... and i fount some ppl there ... oh they looks as germans ... grman VOLUNTEERS ...
I C .. OK i should join .. i should b local volunteer to support them and help them ... specially when ifound out the aims and the point the project support ... PEACE AND SHAKING HANDS ...
but in new style .. having peace through film making .. through new culture .. and support and share alot of skills and experience between the german expert and the palestenian youth ....
im with the project in 2 years ago and i stell love the project more than my self ...

actually im ready help and work for such project for all my life ....with plesure ..

Ich habe vor 2 Wochen zum ersten mal den Film "Das Herz von Jenin" gesehen. Weil mich dieser Film so bewegt hat, habe ich im Internet recherchiert, um zu erfahren, was sich seit dem getan hat. Eher aus Zufall bin ich dabei auf das Projekt "Cinema Jenin" gestoßen, dass ich aus vollem Herzen unterstütze. Es ist schon unglaublich, wenn ein Film solche "Nachwirkungen" hat und ich möchte die Akteure vor Ort unterstützen, durch das Kino und die Kulturangebote andere Wege des "Widerstandes" gegen entmenschlichende Lebensbedingungen zu gehen. Ich danke allen, die dieses Projekt möglich gemacht haben und wünsche allen Akteuren viel Erfolg bei der weiteren Arbeit!Please log in to answer.

I got to know Ismail Khatib in 2006, long before those projects coming to live. I have been guest in his and his family's house together with two youths from Jerusalem - jewish youths.
Despite of maybe just half an hour it was an encounter of an intensity i would never before have expected. And a change for the
two young people. Even many months later the young man honored a portrait of little Ahmad by lighting some candles each weekend.
To them it was the first time ever that one of the occupied, an enemy, accepted them so warmly. And this unconditionally as if it was possible over the bloody trench dividing Israelis and Palestinians to visit each other just like friends.
I do seriously wish for Ismail to have a safe basement for furthermore work and hopefully to reach Israel again as he truly did.
As a banned enemy of Israel in exile i cannot assist in this work anymore but just appeal to others who are free to go to do. Insh'allah and Amen.Please log in to answer. -
Ich habe Ismail Khatib im Januar 2006 kennengelernt, lange vor diesen Projekten. Ich war mit zwei Jugendlichen aus Jerusalem - jüdischen Jugendlichen - im Haus seiner Familie zu Gast. Obwohl es nur eine halbe Stunde gewesen sein mag, war es eine sehr ergreifende Begegnung von einer Intensität, die ich mir nicht ausgemalt hatte.
Und für die beiden jungen Leute eine verändernde. Noch viele Monate später hat der junge Mann in seiner Wohnung ein Bild des kleinen Ahmad mit Kerzen umgeben, die er jedes Wochenende angezündet hat.
Denn für sie war es das erstemal, dass sie ein Besetzter, ein Feind, so warum aufgenommen hat. Und das bedingungslos, als ob man sich über einen so blutigen Graben wie den zwischen Israelis und Palästinensern einfach so besuchen könnte wie unter Freunden.
Ich wünsche mir, dass Ismail eine sichere Basis bekommt, um weiter wirken zu können. Und hoffentlich auch Israel erreichen kann. So Gott will.Please log in to answer. -

Hallo alle zusammen, ich bin Mike,
ich bin derzeit vorort in Jenin und bin zustaendig fuer den Aufbau des LED-Screens. Dieser imposante Leuchtdiodenfernseher wird in wenigen Wochen auf dem Dach des Kinos installiert sein und neben Weltzeit und Liveviews von der ganzen Welt wird auch Werbung, Nachrichten und Wetter zu sehen sein.
Ich werde/bin hauptsaechlich damit beschaeftigt sein, ein lokales Team in allen "Bereichen von Werbungmachen" auszubilden. Das heisst vom Fuehren dieses LED-Projektes, uebers Filmen von Werbung, das Editieren mit Avid Computern bis hin zur Programmierung der Anzeige auf dem LED-Screen.
Wir haben wahnsinnig tolle Leute die in allen Bereichen geniale Arbeit leisten und ich bin unglaublich stolz darauf, Teil dieses harmonierenden, ja fast schon Grossfamilien aehnelnden Teams zu sein. Die aktuellsten News koennt ihr direkt auf der Cinema Jenin Seite entnehmen.
Ich kann nur sagen, weiter so zu allen die uns so tatkraeftig untersteutzt haben, dass wir jetzt hier stehen koennen und ich kann mich nur Marcus anschliessen, helft mit, egal wie!
Man kann sich kaum ausmalen, wie lebensfroh und unglaublich liebenswuerdig das alltaegliche Leben hier in Jenin ist, wenn man es nicht mit seinen eigenen Augen gesehen hat! Ich danke ALLEN, die egal mit was, dieses wundervolle Projekt moeglich gemacht haben!

Ich bin ebenfalls begeistert fuer dieses Projekt. Ich fliege in 3 Tagen mit meinem Bruder nach Jenin und helfe Marcus persoenlich bei den neuen Aufgaben die sich jetzt auftun. Wir werden zusammen aber noch ein bisschen mehr machen als nur das Kino, es geht auch ums Guest House...Please log in to answer.
