The Amani-Group is a self-help group located in Sultan Hamud (Kenya). There are 28 adults and 77 children - all of them are affected by HIV or Aids. A lot of the kids are orphans because their parents died of the deadly disease aids.
We are supporting the Amani-Group since a while, and were already able to provide money for study fees, backpacks, a small chicken farm, a posher mill, a small libary... Helping them to help themselves is our main objective. Through schooling the kids get a perspective for their future. They learn reading, writing and calculating as well as they have lessons about sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases like HIV.
Waridi Schrobsdorff, co-founder and head of i-magine e.V. is from Kenya and has a lot of contacts there still. Through her sister, who still lives in Kenya, she got to know the Amani-Group. About 2,5 hours driving away from the capital city Nairobi they are out of reach for social services.
With your support the kids of the Amani-Group can go to school. They are visiting different types of school, some of them go to borading school.
Waridi regularly sees the progress when she is visiting the Amani-Group in her old homecountry. "You can really see their faces lightening up, every time I go there I feel that their energy and positive thinking is increasing!".

You can help making the kids faces lightening up!
