Apart from checking the notice of exemption of the German fiscal authorities ("charitability"), betterplace does not assess this project. Since there are thousands of projects from all around the world and since there are a variety of criteria on which an estimation can be based, only one group can make assessments efficiently: the betterplace community, i.e. you. (Furthermore, as you know, projects can never checked with 100% certainty of the results- especially in the fundraising sector.)
Please inform yourself about the project through our "web of trust": look at the project responsible (why don't you ask a question about your possible donation?), the project description and the news from on-site. You can also take a look at the comments and opinions, previous donors, visitors and internet users have left so far.
We suggest that you support projects, when you know the carrier organisation or the project responsible, or if a trustworthy person recommended the project to you - or if the web of trust convinced you of the project's trustworthiness.
betterplace.org forwards 100 percent of your donation to the project carrier or in cases where there is no carrier organisation to the project responsible. The recipient is obligated to use the money for the purpose that was defined in the description of the project.
When you donate you have the option to add a "tip" for betterplace.org to the 100 percent. Through the tips we finance the operation (servers etc.) and development (programming etc.) of our platform. Even though we are charitable, we also have to pay our bills. But of course your tip is completely voluntary. If you donate some money to us - thank you! Your team from betterplace.org.
