Rap 4 Rainforests

How is it possible to present topics like climate protection and the protection of tropical rainforests in an interesting and natural way for youngsters living at the edge of our society? The solution is a mixture of different activities like a Graffiti-, Hip Hop-, a movie-campaign, a sport event or an art exhibition which do not only call people's attention, but also enthuse them for tropical rainforests!

This project is especially created for disadvantaged youngsters at secondary school and aims to provide environmental education in an exciting way of learning. The purpose of the project is to create teaching material in order to enable other secondary schools/ teachers proceeding the same way.

Who benefits from the project?

1) Of course, the kids! They establish their own agencies and in cooperation with a partner who provides the practical experience, they finally develop their project. "Rap 4 Rainforest" is an example in which youth write particular rap texts in order to present them at an organized benefit event. The intention is to confirm these youth in their self-esteem and furthermore the animation to stand up for meaningful matters like the environment or for the society.
2) The teachers at secondary schools. Teaching material and an attended film will be developed in order to make sure that an easy reproduction is possible.
3) The rainforest. The kids choose an appropriate project dealing with the protection of rainforests and support their work with collected donates from previous events.

That's the way to help our projects:

An amount of 50€ assures small prizes for pupils' extraordinary work.
Would you like to give a kid the possibility to visit a zoo or a rainforest house? 20€ include the entrance fee as well as the transportation costs!
500 € provide the whole material needed for a kids campaign agency.
With an amount of 1000€ it is possible to cover both, the costs for the technical stage equipment and the room rental fee. Read more
