With our project partners from the GSE Berlin and the RAA Brandenburg we have interviewed 48 children and young people in Zanzibar town, El Alto, Puerto Princesa City and Potsdam for an exhibition. Their views and thoughts on the subject "poor and rich," "Health", "education" and "food" have been combined to 7 display panels. The exhibition currently tours through various schools in the state of Brandenburg, and shows the daily life of children and youth in the 4 countries Tanzania, Bolivia, Philippines and Germany, which are located on 4 different continents. (www.brebit.org)

In October 2011, we will invite 2 students aged 17 - 21 years and one teacher from each country: Philippines, Bolivia and Tanzania for a 3 weeks stay in Germany. Here they will meet young people from Potsdam (Brandenburg), which have also been portrayed in the exhibition. In workshops, they have the opportunity to become acquainted with each other. They will exchange views on the daily life in their countries, and learn to work with the exhibition. Together with our educational speakers they will visit several schools in Brandenburg. There they implement projects on Global Learning with the students and inform about their daily lives.

Subsequently we will translate the exhibition in the local languages Spanish, Swahili and Tagalog so that our foreign partner can use it in their home countries for workshops. We would like to enable them to conduct events for Global Learning at the schools in their home towns.

With this project we want to create an understanding and appreciation for other cultures and different ways of life. Because nothing is more peace-building than learning together of young people from different cultures.

For financing, we have made grant applications to the Foundation North-South-Bridges, the Protestant Development Service, the Catholic Fund and the State of Brandenburg. But we have to shoulder a share of 25% by our own. Therefore we are seeking donations. We would apprechiate if you could support us. Thank you very much!.

    Dear Hassan,
thank you very much for your message. Sustainabilty is very important for the project. We are aiming to achive it by planning a long term exchange between the 4 countries. We want to train young students from the 4 countries to re-echo (or multiply) the knowledge they gained in during the workshops to other students in their own countries. We are also planning to continue such international workshops in Tanzania, Bolivia and in the Philippines in the coming years to involve more students. As I heard, you will come to germany as one of the participants from Tanzania. I am looking forward to meet you. Best regards, Uwe
