Please first view the film on www.india-net-berlin.org / Podcast / childrens ward. You will then exactly know what your help is being used for:

Here an out-patients pediatric clinic is coming into being with emphasis on Pneumology, Immunology and Malaria for children infected with HIV – AIDS.
Aims and duties of the clinic will be:
1. Councelling of pregnant women regarding the posibilties of avoiding the transmission of HIV during and after birth (perinatal transmission).
2. Treatment and caring for HIV – infected children.
3. After care of children with HIV – infected mothers who have been treated with antiretroviral substances and those who are infected with Hepatitis C.

The pediatric clinic will be in close relationship with the casualty department for infective diseases of the Tata Main Hospital and the clinic for neonatology at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital, both in Jamshedpur.
The goal to offer the mothers optimal HIV treatment and simultaneously implement an effective transmittance prophylaxis can only be achieved when, during the pregnancy the first contact is established in order to undertake the risk adapted measures.
Should, inspite of all preventative measures a HIV infection does occur, the infected children will be treated in accordance to internationally accepted recommendations and studies. Complicated cases will be admitted into the clinic.

For psychosocial and financial problems we have a certified social Pedagogue to advise and assist on duty.
