The sponsorship of sport talents in specialised boarding schools is a vital component in the support framework of the foundation “Deutsche Sporthilfe”. The framework starts at the basis and presents the fundament for a successful career in competitive sports. Thanks to the financial support of our foundation, parents can enable their children to attend a sports boarding school. This creates the best possible conditions for the athletic development along with the educational and personal development of the adolescents.

For more than 40 years the “Deutsche Sporthilfe” funds young talents and top athletics in German sports. Athletes who were funded by the “Deutsche Sporthilfe” gained 90 per cent of all German medals won at the Olympic games, World and European Championships. Many countries in the world adopted the model of the foundation “Deutsche Sporthilfe”. We currently support 3,800 athletes and 600 boarding school students in more than 50 sport disciplines.

At approximately 45 boarding schools that are recognised by the “Deutsche Sporthilfe”, athletes or their parents obtain a monthly grant for accommodation and supervision at the schools. The focus lies on the social background of the families, so that the financial support can be granted where it is most needed. Depending on the financial situation of the parents and the requirements of the boarding school, the grant ranges from 50 Euro to 150 Euro per month and is directly forwarded to the parents of the athlete. With your donation you can support talented athletes and their families to stem the costs of the boarding school, so that talented adolescents can continue to pursue their dream of a great sports career. Through such support, their careers do not run the risk to fail because of a lack of financial means.
